About Us

Join the families, students, and teachers of the Wheaton Yamaha Music School who have shared the joys of making music for over 50 years. We are your local, neighborhood music school, but also part of an international family of music schools that provide classes and lessons focused on teaching students to understand music from the inside out. By cultivating a unique and personal relationship with music, our goal is to create lifelong musicians.

All of our teachers are both highly skilled musicians and early childhood educators. They create a safe and encouraging space for children to experience the joy of making music and being expressive. Making music at Wheaton Yamaha is fun, helps children build confidence, and strengthens relationships with friends and family.

​Alumni of the Wheaton Yamaha Music School are lifelong musicians. We are proud that our students finish with the skills to succeed in local bands and community ensembles, to American Idol and the main stage of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Whether professional musicians or recreational enthusiasts, a personal relationship with music allows them to appreciate and engage with their communities.
